Lebanon’s surface is 10,452 square kilometres with a coastline of 225 km on the Mediterranean sea.
The Capital is Beirut, one of the oldest cities in the world inhabited more than 5000 years ago.
The climate is Mediterranean and moderate. The weather in the coastal cities is in general cool and rainy during winters and hot and humid during summers. Climate is cold followed with heavy snows on the higher mountaintops.
Archaeological and Historical sites
The earliest evidence of civilization in Lebanon dates back for more than 8000 years. The Lebanese culture reflects the legacy of various civilizations. From the Canaanite Phoenicians, the Assyrians, the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Arabs, the Fatimids, the Crusaders, the Ottoman Turks to the most recently the French.

Among the common sports activities in Lebanon, we can list Skiing, canoeing, cycling, rafting, climbing, swimming, sailing and caving, water sports are among common activities in Lebanon.
Because of Lebanon's unique geography, it is possible to enjoy each of these activities that require for some of them a specific environment. This unique geography also gives the opportunity to go skiing in the morning and swimming in the Mediterranean Sea
in the afternoon.
Among the oldest countries of wine production in the world, Lebanon production increased in the last years to reach more than 30 wineries across the country. Most of them are located in the Bekaa Valley and it is common to offer their visitors a free tour and tasting.
